Today one of a Sinhala politicians in Hatton – Kenikathane has protested against singing National Anthem in Tamil in the Srilanka’s 68th independence day celebration.
The National anthem in Tamil was played at the last moment during the 68th Independence Day event in Sri Lanka.
The former local government member of Ambagamuva Mr.Elpriya Nanthraj made protest to show his resistance for singing National anthem in Tamil at the end of Independence day celebration.
This Sinhala politician showed his resistance by climbing up on a toilet near Kinikathane bus station. He shouted “Good governors have sung National Anthem in Tamil by abusing law of this country”
He has declared that Sinhala people should unite against Srilanka’s good governance, because Sinhala people are also deceived by this government.
After Srilanka got independence in 1948, it is the first time today the National Anthem has also been sung in Tamil. In the past, National Anthem have been sung only in Sinhala. So it is a good sign for reconciliation in the Island.
But like these Sinhala hard line politicians ruin the country and the people by doing like these unwanted protests.
